Description
This "A type" ring, issued to our consignor, Red Sox farm system hitting coach Cesar Hernandez, is identical in design and construction to those presented to the likes of Beckett, Big Papi and the rest of the playing roster, a massive, jewel-encrusted stunner weighing seventy-seven grams and appraised at $17,700 (appraisal certificate included) without consideration of its collectible value. Certainly, to millions of New Englanders, this is a keepsake worth far more than its weight in gold and jewels.
Ruby-red "sox" form a team logo on the ring's glimmering face, with diamonds and synthetic custom-cut sapphires sharing space with "World Champions"Â engraved text. Still more diamonds line the perimeter, with total diamond weight calculating to 2.33 carats. A miniature Fenway Park adorns the left shank, with text announcing "7th World Series Championship, 4-0 Sweep."Â Right shank features a team logo "B" flanked by twin World Series trophies, and the text, "Hernandez, 2007."Â Interior band is engraved "Boston Red Sox, 10-28-07,"Â and stamped "Jostens 14K."Â Band measures to a size ten (10). Mint condition. Original wood and etched glass hinged display box is included.
