Description
Medium: Ceramic. Circa: Qing Dynasty. Style: Famille Rose. H: 18" by W: 22". Large ceramic fish pond decorated with birds and flowers on the outside and fish and corals on the inside. Famille Rose was fiest created in the late Kangxi reign of Qing Dynasty on the basis of Kangxi polychrome decoration, directly influenced by foreign enamel decoration. It can be also called soft color due to its rich colors and soft elegance. Yongzhen Famille Rose appealed to the people, and it was developed to a basic decorated porcelain in Jingdezhen. Tang San Cai, also called Tricolor Glazed Pottery and a gem of ancient Chinese art, is a kind of handmade glazed ware of exquisite craftsmanship created in the Northern and Southern Dynasty (386-589) about 1,400 years ago. During the Tang Dynasty (618-907), the production of Tang San Cai reached its peak, which is part of the reason the pottery got the name of Tang San Cai.
