San Francisco Views (1850-1950). Sausalito, CA: Windgate Press, 1993. First edition. Oblong folio [33 cm x 41 cm] 21 plates house in a gray cloth portfolio with gilt stamped titles. The plates are in near fine condition. The portfolio is in very good condition, with several small light stains on the front cover. Contains vintage images of Kearney Street from Market and Third Streets, Cliff House, Sutro Baths, the Presidio, Mark Hopkins' residence, Sacramento Street, and much more.

Illustrated. 273-440; 9-200pp. Folio [48.5 cm] 3/4 red leather with speckled paper covered boards, raised bands and a gilt stamped title on the spine. Good. The covers are scratched and heavily rubbed. The rear board is heavily sun faded. The underlying boards are exposed along the edges. There are large chips in the leather at the ends of the spine, and at the corners of the covers. The edges of the endsheets and flyleaves are darkened and foxed. The first several pages have mutiple light stains. There are sporadic stains on the pages. There are open tears in the pages here and there. The tears obscure a minor portion of the text. There may also be occasional closed tears in the edges. Tape repairs to p. 136 of Volume IV. The book is sturdy. Subjects include Of What Sponges Consist, Simon Bolivar, Jewish Captivity, Iron-Clad Houses, Wonderful Rats, Hannibal (the elephant) and more.
