New Era size 18 Pocket Watch made by the New York Standard Watch Co. Stem wind,  lever set, 7 Jewels, serial 3388731. White enamel Dial with pink border, painted black Roman numbers, watch runs. The delicate hour and minute hands are black. New Era appears on the dial. Additionally, there is a second hand dial with black numbers in increments of 10. The Philadelphia Silveroid case has a etched train on the back. As with all New York Standard watches it is difficult to date but it appears to be Ca. 1925 - 1930. PROVENANCE: A Charleston South Carolina Private Collection. The New York Standard watch company, which also operated as the Crown Watch Company, was first incorporated in 1885 and operated in Jersey City, New Jersey.
