Tokyo Bijutsu Club, Tokyo, November 23-26, 1934. In Japanese, Chinese and (possibly) Korean languages. Collation: (unpaginated) 101 leaves (202 pages including many folding plates); 9â€Âx 12†(23 x 30.5 cm); original printed cord bound softcover wraps.
Condition: Good. Square, tight, bright and clean in & out, one cord severed, light edge wear and minor corner creasing to wraps, text block clean with very light
foxing and light edge toning, untorn, unmarked.
Exceptionally scarce original auction catalog for this important, depression era Tokyo Art Club event, featuring Chinese and Japanese artifacts
and works of art, including Longquan pottery from the 14th Century (i.e. Celadon double gourd vase, Yuan/Ming dynasty), porcelain,
small boxes, paintings, folding panel paintings and scroll paintings, calligraphy scrolls, several pieces of furniture and a few swords, a
gong and various objects from antiquity. There are numerous folding and color plates photographed and described for each lot.
Other examples include Korin Yatsuhashi maki Yan boxes, Shakyamuni Buddhist panels, a catfish silk painting, and over a hundred other lots.
