Item Details
Description
1st item: Bronze footed basket form vase with applied crab decoration and twig style "feet," likely Meiji period, late 19th century. 3 1/2" H. 2nd and 3rd items: A near pair of two antique Japanese cloisonne enamel cylindrical vases with narrow necks and flared rims, decorated with scenes of birds in branches, 9 3/4". 20th century. 4th item: Ovoid form hanging cricket cage, handmade, with brass and copper mounts and bone inlay, hinged door, the edges around the door carved in a primitive fret design, 3" L. Chinese, 19th century or earlier. 5th item: Carved wood snuff box or cricket cage with inset bone panels having inscribed decorations and central carved dragon cartouche, horn shaped handles, and carved lid, 3-1/4" L. 6th item: Oblong 8-sided box with raised carved decoration to hinged lid, inlaid inset bone panels around sides, and carved knob handles (note lid will not come open). 4" L. 7th item: Hardwood frame carved with allover floral design and supported on two paw feet, inset with a gilt-decorated bone or ivory panel depicting the interior of the Taj Mahal. Oval panel 2" x 2 1/2", frame 5-1/4" x 4 1/2". Indian, circa 1900. 8th and 9th items: 2 carved hardwood netsuke in the form of foo dogs, likely Japanese. One signed. 1-1/2" H. Condition
Bronze basket in excellent condition with minor interior oxidation. Some interior hairlines showing through sides on vases. Central bone panel on cricket cage possibly replaced.
