Frank Stella (American, born 1936), "Charlotte Tokayer" - 1972 from "Purple Series", lithograph in colors on Zerkall Copperplate Deluxe paper, limited edition 2/100, published by Gemini G.E.L. (Los Angeles, California), pencil numbered, signed, and dated lower right margin above publisher's blind stamps. Minimalist lithograph from the series of nine prints depicting a pentagon at lower left of sheet comprising 9 concentric forms in purple separated by 8 concentric white pentagons encompassing a central solid white pentagon. Framed approximately 23.5" x 29.5". Sheet size approximately 16.25" x 22.25". Provenance: From the Private Collection of Benno & Babette Rothschild, Columbus, Georgia. Reference: Axsom 69.
Condition
Item not examined out of frame as sheet is floating and we do not want to disrupt the integrity of the work. Light handling wear to all edges and corners. Light even toning to sheet. Small dark discoloration in lower left corner. One small dot (light brown) at lower center in interior of pentagon. No other signs of damage, loss or repair.
