Description
Pre-Columbian, Panama, Veraguas, ca. 900 to 1500 CE. This is a beautiful small pendant showing a bird that appears to be a hummingbird with its long, narrow beak protruding and its wings outspread. This culture is known for its small animal pendants, and hummingbirds certainly would have been animals that were common to ancient Panamanian life. Testing has shown that it the pendant is 20k on the outer edge. With the chain it is 8.64 g or 0.280 oz. Size: 1" W x .75" H (2.5 cm x 1.9 cm).
