Description
Pre-Columbian, Mayan Territories, probably Jaina Island or Yucatan coast, ca. 550 to 900 CE. Perhaps my favorite of the Mayan whistles, this one in alligator form, and as such, quite rare. Molded pottery with gator skin well-detailed. Whistle still functions quite well. Size: 3" H (7.6 cm).
