Description
Roman Empire, ca. 2nd to 3rd centuries CE. Delightful water spigot in the form of a dolphin's head, probably once gracing a villa of a wealthy patriarch. Carved solid marble with spout emerging from the mouth, rear drilled for attachment. Custom stand. Size: 3-7/8" L (9.8 cm).
