Greece, Magna Graecia, ca. 480 to 338 BCE. This is a silver (7.74 g) stater from Bruttium, an ancient city in modern day Calabria, Italy. This cion has Apollo advancing right with a stag in front on one side, and a stag standing to the right on the other. Size: 1.9" W (4.8 cm).
Provenance: Ex-estate of the late M. Reiniger, Chicago, IL.
