LOT NOTES
The present lot features the first written biography of DERZHAVIN, Gavriil Romanovich (1743-1816), Russian poet, statesman, Senator, and member of the Privy Council. Events from his life were personally written down by Mitropolit Yevgeniy based on personal memoirs and materials that he received directly from Derzhavin.
