Note: For centuries, gemstones have been treated to enhance their appearance. The very act of cutting and polishing a gemstone can be considered a treatment. Some of these treatments are temporary, and some are permanent. Which treatment(s) are used on a gemstone depends on the gemstone itself and the desired enhancement. These treatments include, but are not limited to: heating, oiling, irradiation, dyeing, impregnation & stabilization, bleaching, coating, diffusion, filling, and laser drilling. At Oakridge Auction Gallery, we strive to disclose all known treatments to diamonds and gemstones. However, some treatments are not readily detectable. Please assume that ALL diamonds or gemstones are treated in some way, whether described or not. Condition: It is in good condition. Provenance: From a Virginia Estate.
