Description

Large cloisonne on porcelain vase, the body is enameled to imitate tree bark surface and features cockerels, birds, and chrysanthemums. Meiji period. H. 87.5cm (34.5 in.)

Totai Cloisonne’ vases were only made for a short period of time and discontinued because of the difficulty in producing specimens that were not flawed or damaged in manufacture.

Condition

Overall the vase is in really good condition, the enamels are in fine condition with no bruise or chips. Some of the carved areas have minor chips.
