Description
Late 19th/early 20th century, Qing dynasty. The imperial yellow snuff bottle of flattened round form, with shoulders surmounted by taotie masks holding rings on opposing sides, resting on a raised oval foot ring, one side carved to show two cranes, the other side with a crane in flight over the moon to imply a happy home, with a yellow peking glass stopper and a brass final, collar and spoon. From the Christian Collection, Middleborough, MA. Approx. 2 3/4 by 1 7/8 in., 7.1 by 4.9 cm.
