[Astronaut/Skylab]. NASA official color photograph of Skylab mission commander Charles Conrad, shown bathing in the shower of Skylab’s crew quarters. Signed in image by Conrad. Conrad (1930-1999) was an American test pilot astronaut who flew on Gemini 5, Gemini 11, Apollo 12 and Skylab 2. He was the third person on the moon and the only astronaut to fly Gemini, Apollo, and Skylab missions. Photo dated May-June 1973. Mount 16 x 20 in. Image: 9 ¾ x 13 3/8 in. Typed label on mount below photo, “SKYLAB 1. Astronaut Charles Conrad,/ Jr., mission commander, enjoys a hot/ bath in the shower facility of the/ Skylab’s crew quarters./ May-June, 1973.” Minor abrasions to image, slight smearing of ink, otherwise very good. Provenance: Given to John Petersen, Chief Publicist for NASA manned space missions.
