GEORGE VI ORDER OF THE BRITISH EMPIRE WITH AWARD DOCUMENT
Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire medal, 2" square, suspended from a red and silver ribbon, and featuring portraits of King George V and Queen Mary. Housed in its original presentation case. The medal is accompanied by a partially-typed D.S., 1p. folio, July 1, 1946, awarding the MBE to Walter Barrett Smith. It features the printed facsimile signatures of KING GEORGE VI (1895-1952) and of the Grand Master of the Order, QUEEN MARY (1867-1953), and is blind embossed with the Order's seal. The certificate has folds, but both pieces are overall very good.
