Alfred Daguet (French, 1875-1942) A Jeweled Casket. Repousse iron and brass box is decorated in red, green, and black enamel depicting a mythical warrior in armor with sword in hand, standing above two animals. The sides of the box are decorated with shield forms on all four sides, that are studded with glass "jewels". Lid of box bears artist's symbol and is dated 12 for 1912 5.5" x 9.5" x 5"

The lid of the casket bears various 1/8" spots of enamel loss throughout. The underside sustains shallow scuffs to the iron. The interior fabric sustains various tears and stains throughout. The underside of the lid of the casket sustains one 5" area of ripped fabric.
