A 19th Century Native American Bone and Bead Breastplate. A breastplate with over 200 bone hair pipes and various color glass beads, also decorated with pieces of hoof carved as a fish head, horse hair and feathers. Assembled with hide strips, from the Native American collection of Ralph Edward Guy who was listed in Who's Who in American Indian Relics L: 45"(without neck thong) W: 18"

The piece bears a heavy dirt buildup throughout, specifically to the bone segments. The carved hoof fragments sustain a number of chips to their edges; it is unclear if this is original to the piece. There are three bone segments missing from the breastplate. The mat on which the breastplate is mounted bears spots of mold buildup.
