Description
A pair of women's gloves, circa 1680-90, of white kid, elbow length, the fingers with decoratively stitched edges, pink pom-poms to the knuckles, with raised-work gilt thread heraldic motifs, 45cm, 18in long (2)
Condition
Generally soiled appearance to the white leather- especially the lower arms. Embroidery is rubbed on both heraldic motifs and cartouches. Pink floss silk pom-poms and embroidery are good. Both gloves have opened seams on the outside edges, approx. 1cm where the gloves have been folded in half. Small nick in leather at edge of left glove- they both have triangular folds at the upper arm edge. Mottled stains to undersides generally.
