An Hermès peacock blue crocodile malette, 1930s, signed to the lock interior '24 Faubourg St. Honoré, front closure tab with gilt coronet below letter 'S', lined in white leather, the lower compartment opening to reveal six engine turned silver topped jars/boxes, three ivory-backed brushes; a mirror and a shoe horn, 26cm, 10 1/4in long Please note there are export restrictions on this lot outside the EU.
Condition
Edges, corners and handle are slightly rubbed from use. Handle and closures are sturdy and in good working order. Locks are working but there is no key. Slight soiling/mottling to surface – needs a polish. Upper cream leather interior is slightly soiled, generally good. Bottom compartment interior lining is soiled. Interior accessories are intact, good condition. Silver-topped jars would benefit from a polish. Engine turned vesta case is lacking base. Shoe horn and lids are marked ‘Hermès’. Ivory brushes are unmarked. Bristles in the smaller brush are moulting and squished.
