Glass was born in Vienna, Austria, in 1911. After emigrating to the US in 1939, he worked for Russel Wright and Gilbert Rohde. He later studied under László Moholy-Nagy and Gyorgy Kepes at the IIT Institute of Design. He founded his own design firm in 1946, and also worked as a professor at School of the Art Institute of Chicago for more than twenty years.

The upholstery is new and is in excellent condition; no holes; no tears; no stains. The chair is in excellent condition and is ready for use, with no problems.
