(lot of 6) English marquetry side chairs in the Queen Anne taste, first half 19th century, executed in walnut and oak, each with an arched crestrail above a vasiform splat inlaid with an armorial shield and the motto "Vivere Sat Vincere" (Possibly the Earl of Sefton) above a slip seat upholstered in damask, rising on ruffle-carved cabriole legs, one signed B Mason 183, 41"h x 20"w x 15"d; seat 18.5"h. Provenance: Property from the Ligonier, PA estate of Richard Mellon Scaife.
