Description
Late 19th century, one bears signature to base ''Henry Dasson / 1882'', in the neoclassical taste, each with a grape cluster and leaf-form finial over a domed gilt bronze-collared neck above the squat circular green marble body flanked by seated female figures clutching trailing floral garlands; one modeled as a nymph, the other a mermaid, raised overall on a waisted stepped and molded pedestal on a gilt-bronze ring foot, 2 pieces, each: 16'' H x 14'' W, est: $7000/9000
Condition
Overall good condition. General light marks, scratches and rubbed wear commensurate with age. Scattered minor chips and fleabites to edges; the largest approximately .25'' x 1'' with an associated area of fill. Previously re-gilt. One with finial detached from cover, mermaid figure somewhat loose, and an approximately 1.5'' stable crack to pedestal base. Each cover glued within body.
