Item Details

Description

A pair of 19th Century carved mahogany winged griffin Renaissance Revival armchairs. The gentleman's chair bears winged griffin arm supports with claw feet. The top crest is a knight's helmet above a banded shield coat of arms and flanked on either side by serpent-like winged griffins between two turned and carved back posts with a gadrooned rail below the front seat. The lady's throne chair bears the same motifs and carvings except for the carved knight's helmet crest is resting above an oval, banded Egg of Fertility. Dimensions are approx. Gentleman's chair - 47"H x 27.75"W x 27" D. and Lady's chair 46.75"H. x 27"W. x 26" D. - Condition: Chairs are in very good condition with some minor repairs. Covers have some soiling and stains.
