First edition of Olfert Dapper's history and geography of Asia, primarily India and Persia, with notable illustrations and maps. A Dutch physician and writer, he wrote a number of books about world history and geography, although he never traveled outside the Netherlands. Lacking one leaf of the first signature, believed to be a half-title; lacking 2 double-page plates and 1 double-page map.
