AN EXCEPTIONAL GEORGE III FIGURED MAHOGANY SERPENTINE CHEST OF DRAWERS, CIRCA 1795, the molded edge top over four graduated long drawers hand constructed with dovetail joinery and apparently retaining original bail handles, flanked by blind fretwork ornamented canted corners, the whole raised on bracket feet. Provenance: Estate of the Late James K. Schooler, Esq. Purchased from Thorpe & Foster, Dorking, Surrey, 6 February 1980, and accompanied by original receipt of purchase along with additional documentation, such as a letter of correspondence along with two Polaroid photographs of the chest.
