A VINTAGE AFRICAN COWRIE SHELL AND SEED MOUNTED WOOD ALLIGATOR HEAD HEADDRESS, hewn and hollowed from one block of wood into a stylized alligator head form with one side centering a large open eye slot, with a long circular hollowed snout surmounted by an angled ridge, on a rectangular neck, and covered throughout in dark red seeds and white cowrie shells composing a figural motif, height: 13", length: 29".
