AFTER CARLO ALBACINI (Italy, 1739? - 1807 or later) - Emperor Lucius Versus (131-161 ce), a 19th c. French bronze from the 18th c. marble copy, taken from the antique original that was part of the Borghese Collection sent from Rome to Paris by Napoleon, now housed in the Louvre. This bronze is by the G&S Foundry, which was the recipient of the 1867 Medaille d'Or. On an integral bronze plinth that has been gilded at a later date. 15 1/2" tall. Fine condition, verdigris patination, scuffs to gilding.
