A Chinese Court Necklace, Chaozhu , late Qing Dynasty, composed of 108 green jadeite beads divided by four larger globe-shaped amethyst connecting beads, jinian , and with matching double gourd type fotou bead, suspending the beiyun , ºck cloud' amethyst which is capped to the top and bottom with turquoise, weighed down by drop-shaped green jadeite pendant held by filigree gilded metal mounts, the three secondary pendants each with 10 pink quartz beads and with clear quartz drops held by filigree metal mounts Provenance: Collected by an Embassy Counsellor to Japan who visited Peking in 1920 and then by direct descent through the family.
