Description
French porcelain plaque depicted with an indoor tavern scene with four fashionable chevaliers gathered around a table, one gent having his palm read by a gypsy fortune teller as three of his companions and a bar maiden lend an ear to the narrative. Pasted on the reverse is a palette shape retailers paper sticker that reads "Giuseppe Siannini, Articou de Pittori, Piazza Pith, Firenze". Written in black script is "La diseuse de bonne aventure, Profre F Vinea" (translates to fortune-teller) and the artists signature as E. Bianchini. The plaque measures 8 inches by 10 1/2 inches and is housed within a 12 1/2 inch by 15 1/4 inch wood frame. The painting is colorful and well executed. Excellent condition.
