Description
Henry Varnum Poor plate (circa 1921-1924) decorated with potted dandelions and a tankard arranged in a chair. Red clay. Very crisp decoration for Poor. Measures 10 inches across. Signed with conjoined HVP at 4 oÕclock in the outermost ring. Typical fine overall crazing and an unobtrusive chip on the foot ring on the back side. Illustrated in "Henry Varnum Poor A Retrospective Exhibition" Pennsylvania State University, 1983, Color plate 102 on page 147. This show traveled to the Everson Museum and to the National Academy of Design.
