Description
Each Qing dynasty. The first rank badge for a civil official of the seventh rank, embroidered to show a mandarin duck (loyalty) amidst scrolling clouds and atop crashing waves, with a key fret and floral border, framed. Approx. 11 by 11 3/4 in., 28 by 30 cm; the second rank badge made for a civil official of the fifth-rank, with an embroidered silver pheasant (beauty, good fortune) surrounded by auspicious symbols, above a lishui stripe, with a key fret border. Approx. 8 1/8 by 9 5/8 in., 20.7 by 24.5 cm.
