Tim Lehi
Growing up as the son of an art professor in Kansas, Tim Lehi became obsessed with drawing and comic art at a young age. In his early teens, Lehi started drawing flyers for local heavy metal shows in Wichita, Kansas, which soon after led to an interest in tattooing. Eager to learn, Tim began teaching himself by collecting, applying, and observing the art. From Kansas to Texas, Arizona, and finally settling in San Francisco, Lehi found himself working for and learning from Ed Hardy. This all led to Tim, Jeff Rassier, Scott Sylvia, and Jef Whitehead opening Black Heart Tattoo in 2004. Tim Lehi's large-scale tattoos and body suit designs are a seamless meld of traditional Asian imagery, metal madness, and classic Americana. He has tattooed at conventions around the country, and is often commissioned for fine art paintings, comic art, commercial art for beer companies, and album artwork for bands.
