Black Heart Tattoo
Founded in 2004 by Jeff Rassier and Scott Sylvia, Black Heart Tattoo is located in the heart of San Francisco's Mission District. Scott Sylvia has been tattooing since he was 18 years old. Beginning his career in Monterey, California, he has worked all over the world pursuing his trade. After opening the shop American Graffiti with friends Eric Hogan and Nate Sponsor when he was a young man, Scott has gone to occupy seats other famous shops like Primal Urge, 222 Tattoo, and Temple Tattoo. Now, as fate would have it, Sylvia has landed in San Francisco and has opened another shop with two great artists and friends. Jeff Rassier started tattooing in 1990 in Santa Barbara, but soon after moved to San Francisco to work at Primal Urge Tattoo and 222 Tattoo. From there he decided to take his skills on the road and tattooed clients as he traveled the country, returning to the Bay Area and opening Black Heart Tattoo in 2004.
