Description
HIROSHIGE JAPANESE UKIYO-E WOODBLOCK PRINTS, LOT OF TWO, comprising "Goten Hill at Shinagawa" from the series "One Hundred Famous Views of Edo," signed lower left; and an example depicting a river or coastal scene, with boats in the foreground, signed lower left, with censor seals in upper right margin, possibly a double nanushi example. Ando Hiroshige (Japanese, 1797-1858) or Hiroshige II (Japanese, 1829-1865). Probably mid 19th century. The first 13 3/4" x 9 1/8" sight, 18 3/4" x 14 1/4" OA, the second 9 1/8" x 14" sight, 14" x 19" OA.
Condition
The first in good condition with some toning, the second in fair condition with toning, foxing, and some stains.
