Description
DALE CHIHULY BLANKET STUDIO ART GLASS CYLINDER VASE, teal transitioning to a light amber, with an applied dusty blue and maroon blanket drawing, with maroon flecks and threads, signed and dated for 1978. 1978. 11" H, 5 3/4" D rim and base.
Provenance: From the collection of Peg and Ed Harmon, Pittsburgh, PA.
Purchased directly from the artist.
Exhibited: Renwick Gallery, Washington D. C.
Catalogue Note: Dale Chihuly relinquished the position of gaffer in 1979 to William Morris due to a shoulder injury. However, this vase was made in 1978, which makes it likely that Chihuly was the active gaffer at the time in which it was made.
