27h x 7w x 13d, Cast bronze, hot cast glass.Miles Van Rensselaer earned a BA from Kenyon College with a double major in Sculpture and English while studying the Indonesian language, mask-making and woodcarving in East Java and Bali, Indonesia. He discovered glass through Stephen Rolfe Powell as an undergraduate and went on to work with glass at Tobin Studios, Bucks County Community College, WheatonArts, Penland School of Craft, Corning Museum of Glass, Tyler School or Art, Urban Glass and Alfred University. Miles has lectured and demonstrated at The Crefeld School, SIU Carbondale, Alfred University and Osaka University of Arts. His work is included in the collections of The Shanghai Museum of Glass in China and The National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia, and can currently be found at Habatat (Florida and Michigan), Heller (NYC), Wexler (Philadelphia) and Sandra Ainsley Galleries (Toronto, Canada). Miles currently works out of and lives above the bronze foundry and glass studio he built in an abandoned marble quarry along the Delaware River in northwest NJ and welcomes visitors.
