SPANISH QUEEN'S STRIPED SILK DRESS, c. 1810. White and pale red having high waist and short puffed sleeve, slightly trained skirt, the hem decorated with a double row of pinked and ruched self fabric, unusual back closing, possibly originally covered by a train, belonged to the Queen Consort of Spain and the Indies, nee Marie Julie Clary. B-36, high W-30, L 52 1/2-55 1/2. (Small mend at top of shoulder, few small, light stains) excellent. Ex collection M. Fulgence, see Boucher's 20,000 Years of Fashion, p. 267, 290, 292-293
