GENTS STRIPED SILK THREE-PIECE SUIT, 1760 - 1780. Gold, light blue and black narrow striped satin twill, coat having narrow stand collar, deep cuff, trimmed with self buttons, divided linen pockets beneath shaped flap, back-lacing waistcoat with one pocket lined in pigskin, both pieces lined in cream silk and labeled "V. Barthe 527" stenciled on homespun linen, fall front breeches having knee bands with buckle, flannel lining, Coat Ch-38, Sh-15, Slv-24, L-43, W-30, inseam 16. (Breeches missing buttons, altered at waist) fair, (silk linings worn, few black marks near cot hem) coat and waistcoat excellent. Ex Tasha Tudor Historic Costume Collection.
