Description
After Angelo Asti (Italian,1847-1903), "Odalisque", hand painted oval porcelain plaque, unsigned. First half of 20th century figural porcelain plaque of oval form contained within fitted niche in ornate Rococo style frame with scrolling and shells. Plaque depicting a young nude beauty at bust length in profile with long waves of hair. Verso of plaque with remnant of label with illegible handwritten script text. Overall framed approximately 9" x 7". Overall plaque approximately 3.4" x 2.3". Provenance: From the Estate of Mary L. Haugk, Lawrenceville, Georgia.
