Description
Continental School, 19th century. A collection of three miniature portraits of French women comprising an oval painting likely depicting Marie Antoinette, the figure dressed in blue with lofty powdered wig and set on a blue background, signed lower right indistinguishably; a small round painting depicting a fashionable woman in large flowered hat over dark hair and wearing green and white dress, tag to verso suggesting the subject as "Mad de Brives"; and a portrait mounted as a brooch depicting a courtly woman with powdered wig and colorful gown, signed upper right indistinguishably. Largest portrait approximately 3.375" x 2.75". Provenance: From the Estate of Mary L. Haugk, Lawrenceville, Georgia.
