Artist Unknown (18th-19th Century) Boy With A Snake. Oil on canvas laid to panel 30" x 23"

This lot is in overall fair to poor condition. The painted image of the infant on canvas is mostly intact and clean compared to the rest of the piece. The canvas is a fragment measuring approximately 14" at top, 5" at bottom, 17.5" at the left, and a diagonal 22" at the right. A 'continuation' of the image appears to have been painted onto the panel after the canvas was laid to it. There are many scattered areas of wear, scuffing, chipping, and pigment loss throughout. This is most concentrated to a 22" x 3" section to the right of the infant where there is a split in the wood panel. The panel appears to be stabilized and free from warping
