Description
A very important Tripod. Very similar to the one in the National Archaeological Museum in Naples that was found in 1755 in the House of Julia Felix of Pompeii. The dimensions are very similar. We have a 19" tall base 19" x 19" footprint. Upon that sits the Satyrs with clubbed feet, the three intertwined at the tails connected with a ring are 28" tall. Atop them sit the two piece basin that is 7" tall. The bronze Satyrs are without their erect phalli, in their place is an insert as pictured. However one of the inserts is missing. Two of the three lower basin handles that are present in the museum piece are missing here.
