RARE ORIENTALIST TABLE FORM BISCUIT TIN, HUNTLEY & PALMER’S “KASMIR”, 1904
the Islamist form hexagonal table designed with silhouettes of eastern domes and gilt scrolls simulating marble fret panels, each of the facades and the top with an animal head trophy, hinged and opening at the top, the underside printed Huntley & Palmer, and with announcements heralding placement prizes for the International Exhibitions of 18.. and 19..
Height 6 1/2 in., Width 7 in.
The offered lot “Kasmir” is the last of the Huntley & Palmer tins in their table series. Less than 10,000 were produced and it is thought to be their most beautiful in the series.
