This lithograph print by Harold Altman features a stunning autumn landscape. A charming village reminiscent of rural America can be seen from a bird's eye view in fine lavender and red tones. In the background are majestic mountains swooping to the upper right of the image. The hills are ablaze with brilliant fall colors, yet the scene is tranquil and at peace.
Harold Altman (1924-2003) is an internationally renowned artist whose works can be found in virtually every major museum collection in the United States. He attended Black Mountain Arts college briefly and graduated from Cooper-Union Art School. In his lifetime he was awarded two Guggenheim Fellowships, a National Institute of Arts and Letters Award and a National Endowment for the Arts grant.
