Description
The thick potted jar having bulbous body to the rounded shoulder, short neck to wide opening, with flat base. The exterior hand painted with pair of enormous winged dragons, in pursuit of centralized flaming pearl, its scale painted in iron-red, soaring between flaming clouds. The remain painted in deep cobalt blue against white ground. Bordered with tendril of auspicious pattern on foot and collar. Wavy LiShui water pattern banded on the neck.
The underside left unglazed, displayed a pale-creme with orange hue and dark firing spots along with a swirl curve mark carved on the base center.
Mark on the collar, six blue script -KaiShu- characters, enclosed by a frame border, WanLi Reign Period of Great Ming.
Dimension: 13" H x 12-1/4" Diam.
