Description
Lot of 10, all 1.5 x 2 inches and mounted on their original card stock mounts that have blind stamps reading ‘Pocket Kodak’ below image. These images include an early horse drawn fire hose wagon in a parade in city street being pulled by two uniformed firemen with period pencil inscription on rear reading ‘Tub Watch City Waltham; a steam railroad locomotive labeled ‘Letchbury R Road’; a Mass. factory on the Charles river with dam; Charles river scene Waltham, Ma.with man in row boat; Soldiers Monument at Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham, Mass.; Hampton Watch Factory building in Boston; two workers inside Hampton Watch factory at work tables working on watches; cute photo of group of ducklings, labeled Ipswich, Mass.; and two photos of a kitten with bell around neck, also labeled Ipswich, Mass. The Pocket Kodak was first introduced in 1895 and used daylight loading spools of 12 images, which were returned to Kodak for development and printing. The camera was discontinued in 1900. An interesting example of some of the first mass produced armature photographs in America.
