Description
A rare Zapotec mold from the Yagul site in Oaxaca, Mexico, ca. AD 500 – 1200. This large example is 4-1/4 in high and creates the face of God Cocijo, the God of Lightning and Rain. Good mineral deposits, find site inscription. Ex Magor estate. Cf. Boos 'Ceramic sculptures of Ancient Oaxaca', pages 27 – 55.
