A very unusual full-bodied dolphin with glass eyes, painted tin body, wood base and lower structure. A small tube on top of the head between the eyes represents the blow hole. On the under side is a winding mandrel for a clockwork mechanism. The mechanism is fully wound and frozen, not operational. If working, the flat tail would move left and right to propel the floating toy. Circa early 20th century.
