Description
A very unusual full-bodied dolphin with glass eyes, painted tin body, wood base and lower structure. A small tube on top of the head between the eyes represents the blow hole. On the under side is a winding mandrel for a clockwork mechanism. The mechanism is fully wound and frozen, not operational. If working, the flat tail would move left and right to propel the floating toy. Circa early 20th century. Measures 14.5 inches long.We are happy to offer in-house shipping for all but very large or very fragile items. Some international orders may need to be handled by a third party shipper. Handling and materials fees begin at $7 per box for items under 12 inches. Larger and or more valuable items and those that warrant double boxing will have higher material costs.
Condition
Very good original paint, eyes and structure. The mechanism needs repair.
